Lexcel’s POS testing software provides financial institutions the ability to perform end-to-end testing, speeds the process of terminal development for terminal manufacturers, and vastly decreases the certification and implementation procedure for processors utilizing new terminals.

PC-based Lexcel TestSystem POS enables developers and testers to create and execute POS transactions in a variety of formats to test Host system responses to such transactions. The POS test system also enables POS Host emulation to provide added controllable parameters for testing POS devices and software in various development stages.

The scope of Lexcel's POS testing solutions encompass the EFT testing activities undertaken by Quality Assurance, Development and Certification groups from both the Terminal and Host perspectives. By providing the transaction functionality of a POS terminal through the generation of transactions by Magstripe and EMV CHIP card compatible readers and applications, or by the creation of real-time requests through an automated scripting application, the manual process of executing standard EFT testing cases is greatly reduced. Likewise, off-line device testing through Lexcel TestSystem POS Host includes cross-editing logic, data validation at the transaction and field levels, and batch totals accumulation.

In both Terminal and Host modes Lexcel TestSystem POS incorporates modern encryption routines of DUKPT and Triple DES. It also captures all transaction exchanges and errors in easy to interpret audit files and provides powerful automated regression applications for measuring variances against a baseline.

Lexcel also automates process of generating transactions from physical POS terminals for testing terminal applications and Class A/B certifications. Lexcel's methodology of transaction scripting and automated test execution are incorporated directly into the POS terminal, enabling testers to automate the test execution process while fully exercising the physical terminal and applications residing on the terminal.
