Carl Kubitz – President and Chief Executive Officer

Carl Kubitz brings 30 years of computing experience to every customer. His unique combination of data communication, hardware, software, and financial network skills was earned while working with many of the industry leaders in these fields. After graduating from Oregon State University with a computing science degree he progressed through more responsible positions, including Regional System Analyst for Northern Telecom. During the 1980’s he worked for Prime, where he installed the largest network in the Company’s history, and Tandem, where he was introduced to the world of electronic finance. While at Tandem, he wrote a five year technology plan for Wells Fargo Bank.

Carl moved to Arizona in 1982 to work as an independent technology consultant to the financial industry. Some of his clients included Valley National Bank and Valley Bank of Nevada. The system architecture for in-store POS devices that he designed for ABCO, a supermarket chain, was very successful. It was eventually spun off as a separate company named Retail Electronic Payments System.

While working with the financial community, Carl recognized the need for testing and certification products that could run on PCs and connect to mainframes. He began developing his first simulator in 1987 for Star, later bought by Deluxe Data. In 1995 he formed Lexcel Solutions, Inc. to pursue the growing demand for his simulator products. Still on the leading edge in his field, he brought out a communications platform product in 1997 that lets users run Lexcel simulators over the office LAN instead of from standalone test machines.

Steve Cox – Chief Technology Officer

Steve Cox has written more than 40 simulators for Lexcel and understands the issues that arise when dealing with standards for processing financial transactions. He has also designed and implemented several migrations and gyrations of Lexcel application software. Steve is a visionary developer. He keeps abreast with current and emerging industry trends and forecasts future direction for Lexcel software.

Steve has two Masters Degrees including one in Computer Science from Washington State University. Steve has an impressive list of accomplishments as a senior software developer for a number of industry leaders. He has developed application code for Bell Labs, user interface code for Tektronix, and financial transaction processing, including EBT (Electronic Benefits Transfer) applications for Deluxe Data.
