Lexcel TestLab™  | Developer's Edition  |  Interface Manager

Designed for the Development Professional, Lexcel TestSystem Developer’s Edition is an extension of the compliant Lexcel TestSystem that provides the same automation for DES encryption, validation logic, true protocol, pre-defined transactions and other essential testing functions, while exposing the field-level data definitions and the transaction-level field properties for advanced format customization.

The increased flexibility of Lexcel Developer’s Edition enables developers to control and avoid much of the compliance validation logic while developing new features. This logic can be restored as the development features become more stable and near implementation. Developers require flexibility to define new fields and modify message structures so they can conveniently test their software and ignore irrelevant variables until the enhancements are in a more stable condition.

Lexcel Developer's Edition is designed for the advanced payment network testing requirements of development professionals. By incorporating open architecture testing applications to form a more flexible configuration environment than the compliant Lexcel TestSystem, Developer's Edition increases the realm of possible payment network testing scenarios and expands the scope of testable conditions. Developer's Edition has the most flexible and powerful transaction-level, field-level, and format-level editing capabilities. The distinction is made between the compliance version of the Lexcel TestSystem and Developer's Edition because this open architecture enables developers to control and avoid the compliance restraints of a static EFT transaction format, so that they may incorporate new features or create negative testing conditions for any of their payment network testing requirements.

Due to the open architecture of Developer's Edition test system, format changes can be made to create invalid scenarios or add new message definitions so that developers can test their coding changes prior to turnover to QA and eventual production implementation. As a result of these changes, the message format can be temporarily or permanently changed to no longer match the documented specifications from which Lexcel TestSystem Network was originally constructed.

Lexcel Developer's Edition provides multiple enhancements to the compliant Lexcel TestSystem through:

  • User-Controlled Message Definitions
  • User-Controlled Field Definitions
  • User-Controlled Sub-Field Definitions
  • User-Controlled Format Definitions

When development professionals require control over field-level definitions of Left vs. Right Justified, Variable vs. Fixed, or Numeric vs. Alpha-Numeric the definitions are clearly defined and easily configurable. Likewise, for message-level definitions of Mandatory vs. Optional changes are just a click away. Best of all, changes incorporated within Developer's Edition are reflected with ScriptBuilder™ and ResponseBuilder™, so the entire testing platform is individually configured to each developer's unique testing needs.
